I just about pooped my pants this morning!!
While I was getting onto the freeway I saw at Arco that gas was 3.41 a gallon!!??!!?? What the heck is going on here?? I just paid 3.13 a gallon on Monday at Costco-Livermore. This is crazy! Although Costco Livermore probably has the lowest gas prices in the Bay Area still it will probably be 3.30 when I go next week. I guess we will be driving the Corolla more often since the Highlander is a V-6. It says in the bible that one day it will be a days wages for bread when the end times begin. I guess this is just the beginning. It's sad that when the kids grow up they are going to laugh at gas being 3.41 a gallon because it will probably cost 10 times as much a gallon when they start driving.

Have I lost my identity??
Before I had kids I knew what my favorite songs and what my favorite bands where. Now when I fill out those online surveys I can’t even name my favorite band… Why??? Because Alyssa takes over the radio and SCREAMS for Radio Disney as soon as she gets in the car. I am all for it because they don’t play anything crazy on Radio Disney and all of the songs are censored.
What is even more sad is that I was driving to lunch with my boss on Thursday and she had on 94.9. I started laughing because I don’t even listen to 94.9 anymore. Then she started singing and dancing to that song Get LOW LOW LOW LOW… it was hilarious but sad that I had no clue what she was singing. Granted she has a 13 year old daughter and I will probably know the songs again once Alyssa is 13 but I feel clueless right now.
Is it bad that my favorite song right now is Miley Cyrus See you again? Is it bad that Brian and I go around the house singing songs from Yo Gabba Gabba? Is it bad that I will actually turn on the Suite Life of Zach & Cody or Hannah Montana to see if we have seen that episode yet? Is it bad that I listen to Radio Disney even when Alyssa isn’t in the car?? Is it bad that my last two concerts were Hannah Montana and High School Musical on Ice?? Is it bad that my next event will be Disney Princesses on Ice?? Where has my identity gone?? I feel like I am 5 years old!!!

Monkey Munch.
One more blog for the night since I am downloading pictures. Alyssa and I decided to do some baking while Gabby was sleeping and Brian was helping Dolores (Alyssa's godmother) pick up a bed for her son in Berkeley. Alyssa got an apron and chef hat from Jill yesterday and she loved it! She asked if we could bake yesterday but I threw Dolores a baby shower yesterday and I was wiped so I promised her today we could make something. I was watching Jon & Kate plus 8 a few weeks ago and she mentioned she would give her kids Monkey Munch for dessert so I googled the recipe and saw it was simple and decided to make it today since I am still a little tired from the shower and didn't feel like actually baking. Alyssa was happy just as long as she could help with her chef hat and apron. She is a regular Ratatouille!! So here is the recipe complete with pictures:
Monkey Munch
Ingredients:
9 cups Chex® cereal (any variety)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Preparation Directions:
1. Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
2. In 1-quart microwavable bowl, stir together chocolate chips,
peanut butter and butter. Microwave uncovered on High 1 minute;
stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be
stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.

3. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on
waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

We finished just in time because look who woke up from her nap with a poopy diaper.
As you can see Alyssa was being very camera shy, LOL! The Monkey Munch is really good but really addicting. We made it mostly for Brian to take to lunch with him. I have already eaten enough of it tonight. I am feeling so full right now. Then Brian came back from Target and bought me Ghirardelli milk chocolate caramel bars. My favorite... but after eating take out burrito's and Monkey Munch they will have to wait for another day.

My baby was HUNGRY!!!!
So finally I downloaded pictures off of my camera. I had these pictures from two weeks ago. I went upstairs to get ready for church after work and I came down and I saw this:
Ms. Gabby decided that she was hungry and grabbed the cheese crackers off of the kitchen table and is trying to grab some out of the box. That girl loves to eat!!! So I give her one....
But I guess that wasn't good enough for her so she decided just to dump the crackers on the ground and eat off the floor. Hey God made dirt, so dirt don't hurt!!! Of course Alyssa FREAKED because she does not like messes (she is a little anal about being clean) but she ended up eating some off of the ground too...

My children are savages, lol....

These are a few of their favorite things....
So since I started this blog to remember what my kids were up to when they were younger I wanted to document what their favorite things are. I am going to try and do this every few months or whenever their interests change. So here we go these are their favorite things at this moment.
Gabby's Favorite things:
Yo Gabba Gabba, Backyardagins, Wiggles (Do the Monkey song), Blue's Clues, When I sing the Itsy Bitsy Spider and You Are My Sunshine to her, to play with shoes and shoe strings, pulling DVD's out of the DVD rack, closing and opening doors, playing with my earings (she is fascinated by them!), DADDY!!!, dancing and clapping, bath time, BABA (she is addicted), Riding her little bike, Little People, Combing her hair(we tell her how PRETTY she is while she brushes), Running after Alyssa trying to comb her hair while Alyssa screams, falling on purpose & saying OHHHH for attention, being held, rough playing, kissing us and saying Mwwwahhhhhh, her little Mommy Erika, Callista her best friend at church, Clapping at church and raising her hands to worship, putting on necklaces, time outs in her Bumbo chair, playing in sissy's room, her Fisher Price story time chair and Laugh & Learn Home, playing peek a boo, rocking herself on the sofa, brushing her teeth, playing with the computer chair, playing with the computer mouse and keyboard, playing with our cell phones and "talking", talking in her own gibber jabber a lot... she really knows what she is saying too we just can't understand her!

She always asks when we are going she loves the "snacks" or otherwise known as the samples. And she loves Target to look but not buy at the Toy Section.
That is all I can think of for now... until next time....

She FINALLY did it!!!
Gabby took THREE steps tonight and attempted to walk!! There are MIRACLES!!! I was sitting on the computer and she was standing up talking and dancing and I told her to come to Mommy and she took three steps. I screamed to Brian SHE IS WALKING and he grabbed his camera. Once she knew she had an audience she just stood there and clapped waiting for us to clap... hee hee.. So that was the end of that but Brian got some of the walking on video.
She is now 15 months old and has refused to even try to walk. She would take one step and then fall down on purpose to get a reaction out of us and say OHHHHH!!! But I think this time she is serious and we are heading down the road to us chasing after a toddler!!! My step mom predicted this would happen since Gabby has been opting to cruise along furniture instead of crawling and standing on her own a lot lately. It just seems surreal that she has grown up so fast and 15 months have passed me in the blink of an eye.

Dear Idiots that drive with me on the road everyday,
I would love to get to work once without worrying if one of you are going to kill me. So can we go over the rules of the road just this once?
If I am driving in the middle lane please do not tailgate me. I am already doing 75 so you dont run me off the road. So please STOP. The speed limit is 65!!!!
If you are in the fast lane the speed limit does not mean 100 mph. I am in the lane next to you and do not want to hit your car if you loose control of your vehicle.
If you are driving a motorcycle it's probably not the best idea to weave in and out of traffic while doing 90. You are not invinsible.
When you have no idea where you are going please do not stop in the MIDDLE of the FREEWAY and think "Dur George where do I go" There are PEOPLE behind you!!!!
To the people that have to merge on the 680 or the 238 stop waiting until the last minute to get over! You hold up traffic and someone is going to crash into you! Wait in line like everyone else instead of risking our lives just because you don't feel like waiting the extra two minutes that it will take you to get to where ever you need to go. Which is most likely NO WHERE THAT IMPORTANT!
To the man in the Mercades that drove behind me in the fast lane a few weeks ago... I was doing 80 and there was traffic in front of me. There was no reason you should have flashed your lights at me then proceed to go around me on the shoulder of the road. Lunatic.
To the lady that cut me off in 2005 and I lost control of my car and I proceeded to get into a 4 car accident and totalled my car.... and you drove off like nothing happened. I hope what went around came around for you.
Now to end my letter I would like to point out that life is precious so PLEASE STOP DRIVING LIKE MANIACS!!!
Thank you,
Little old me in the Toyota Corolla.
