Last Friday I had my first parent teacher conference with Alyssa's kindergarten teacher. I was SO nervous. I used to hate those conferences when my Mom would go to them since I wasn' t the best student and my head was always in the clouds. I knew the teachers would rat me out!!
Alyssa's conference on Friday went really well. We talked about the crying episodes which have not happened since we started doing the green square rewards. Alyssa's teacher also said that Alyssa was the best writer in the class!! I was so proud. She showed me pictures that Alyssa drew and how she would try and write sentences with the pictures.
Alyssa wants learn how to read REALLY bad. We practice sight words every night. She will always ask how things are spelled or what a word starts with. It's really cute because she will try and teach Gabby how to spell and Gabby will spell along just repeating what she says.
A few weeks ago I got Alyssa a library card. I have not been to the library in years and forgot what I am missing. Alyssa loves to check out books. Her favorites so far are Frog and Toad and the Madeline books. You can also check out DVD's for free! I love it... free entertainment! We go every Sunday and Alyssa really loves it. I know she is going to be a reader like her Mom! Just as long as she doesn't read during a class math lesson. I remember getting in trouble reading while in class. I wish I could read nowadays but I am lucky to get through a Parents magazine in 2 months!!

Never Again!
Last weekend we took the girls to see the Beverly Hills Chihuahua movie. Gabby's 1st movie. We thought since nap time was over she would be in a good mood. So we go to find out that the movie is sold out! Alyssa is crying that she wants to see the movie so we buy tickets to the next showing which is an hour and twenty minutes from the showing we wanted to go to. We go walk around the mall and Target then come back to a huge line that we have to wait in to see the movie. Okay this wasn't Star Wars we were seeing! It was just a dumb talking dog movie!!!
So Brian gets a Slurpee, popcorn and candy to share. Gabby is content sitting down watching the previews. So Brian brings the food in and Gabby insists that the Slurpee is ONLY hers! Then she eats most of the popcorn. So we watch the movie and once Gabby decides she is done with food she wants to run up and down those cool lighted stairs. That is when I say okay time to go and watch the movies from the entrance. But no Gabby didn't want to do that and yells at me NO NO!!! So we go out to the hallway where Gabby runs off her Slurpee and candy high. I missed half of the movie. I did go back in at the end when Brian switched places with me. And the audience clapped when the credits rolled. Must have been some movie!! But we decided not to take Gabby back to the movies until she was 4. Too bad I think she really would have liked Madagascar 2!!
I took a few pictures with my camera phone:
Here she is happy in her seat:

Kindergarten Rough Patch
You know when you send your kid off to school for the first time and there is always a crier? Well I have that crier!! Alyssa all of a sudden said she does not like school and wants to go back to preschool!!!
Thursday my step Mom went to pick her up and Alyssa was having a cow because a boy said he wanted to be Arianna and Alyssa's friend. Alyssa screamed and cried that she only wanted Arianna as a friend and no more friends! She was hysterical about it. I wonder if it's because Arianna was in her preschool.
I don't work on Friday's so I drop Alyssa off at school the next day and she is a little whiny but seems to do okay when I leave. When I go to sign her out of class the teacher asks to talk to me. I was thinking RUH ROH!! I am in trouble! She let me know about Thursday's incident and then she said Alyssa cried really loud in class saying that she wanted to go home to me and that she was disrupting class. So the teacher had to tell her to sit at her desk to cry. So the teacher came up with giving Alyssa green squares on the day she did not cry and if she did really good and came home with four or more squares Brian and I can reward her. So I had to go over this idea with her a lot so she knows not to cry in class. I told her she could go out to ice cream with Dad or she could pick something out at the Target Dollar spot if she got enough green squares. So we will see how it goes. I never thought Alyssa would not do well in Kindergarten. She is very social and likes to learn. I do think that all day Kindergarten is a little much for her but she will have to get used to it! I really hope she has a green square from her teacher today. *Fingers crossed* that there was no crying.

New nighttime friend for Gabby...
I have FINALLY found a Yo Gabba Gabba product other than a play microphone from Target. Yo Gabba Gabba has been on the air for over a year now you think they would come up with more stuff. So Gabby and I were at Stoneridge after we dropped Alyssa off at school to get my BFF a birthday gift and a Christmas present that I wanted to get my little sis that was on sale.
I just wanted to run in and run out of the mall and not go over my budget... yeah right! First of all I thought there was a huge sale at Gap because there was a line of Mom's with strollers lined up around Gap. I asked a Grandma looking lady what was going on and they said that they were looking for model's for Baby Gap. She told me Gabby was cute and get my butt in line. I looked at Gabby and considered it for a mili-second and said no way because nap time was coming up and she would have a melt down in a two hour line and THEN have to take her pictures. She would not cooperate at ALL. I know my child. I wished the lady good luck ane went on my way to get the presents.
On the way out I passed by Hot Topic and they had a Yo Gabba Gabba bag on display. I ran inside and asked the lady if they had any other products. They had stuffed animals!!! I was more excited than Gabby to see they had Yo Gabba Gabba toys. But why Hot Topic?? I haven't shopped there since my "raver" days. The sales lady said Yo Gabba Gabba was very popular with teenagers... who knew? So I bought her Tootie. Tootie is now Gabby's new BFF... she has eaten with Tootie, brushed Tootie's hair, watched Yo Gabba Gabba with Tootie and most importantly sleeps with Tootie. Gabby's Backyardagins Uniqua toy and my old Monchichi that she sleeps with every night have been kicked to the curb for Tootie. Gabby literally threw those toys out of her crib. She still sleeps with her beloved dog but the other toys needed to go to make room for Tootie! I will not even get into how much I paid for Tootie. Highway robbery I tell you!! Is there such a thing as price gouging for stuffed animals????

Gabby's new "do"
I did this to Gabby's hair just to be funny. She took it out after awhile... then insisted on me putting all of the hair clips and hair ties back in. I hope she doesn't think she can go out in public like this!!! She just saw her pictures and said "Oh Mommy I pretty!" and then said "Jump, Jump" and started jumping around... it's something she does when attention is on her and she is excited because she looks "pretty". The hair tie isn't bad but maybe we can compromise with all those hair clips.
I finally update my recipe site:
Check it out for more new recipes! http://twotiarasrecipebook.blogspot.com/
I have not been cooking as much as I used to but I have been taking pictures of new recipes that I made and loved. Hopefully with the holiday's coming up I will have more recipes to share!

Guess what Gabby Goo just did? She locked me out of the house. I went to put some water in Diamond's bowl outside and she locked the door and couldn't get it back open. Good thing I'm small and was able to climb through the kitchen window. One for the books!!!
Gabby is such a stinker!! I could not help to LOL @ the picture of my Step Mom climbing through their kitchen window. Poor Nani!!!
